Lange & Söhne unveiled the new Datograph Up/Down in 18K pink gold with black dial ref. 405.031. The new Datograph Up/Down in 18K rose gold was a replica watch that all hardcore Lange collectors were waiting to see one day. Fitted with a 41 mm diameter case, the A. Lange & Söhne Datograph Up/Down is one of the most iconic chronographs of all time and one of Lange’s staple timepieces. Previously only available in platinum with black dial, this new timepiece is one that we are happy to see being added to their line-up.
Clean lines along with a simple dial layout —that is not cluttered at all— make the A. Lange & Söhne Datograph Up/Down one of the most coveted references from this German manufacture. On the wrist, the Datograph Up/Down wears true to its size and slightly high on the wrist. Powered by the amazing manual wound in-house calibre L951.6 composed of 451 parts and 46 jewels —4 in gold chatons— that features an 8-gap column wheel, this replica watch comes with a power reserve of more than 60 hours when fully wound. An interesting fact about this column wheel mechanism, is that its 8-gap column wheel coordinates all the switching operations of the chronograph mechanism. Rockers and levers of various shapes engage with this wheel. The considerable length of the levers is due to the special dial arrangement. They bypass the outsize-date mechanism and bridge the distance to the subsidiary dials located below the center line.
