Baselworld 2015: Introducing the New Tudor Pelagos Blue and the Redesigned Pelagos Black. Both Now with In-House Movement. Live Pictures and Pricing.

The Tudor Pelagos needs no introduction. This time we present you the new iteration of this fantastic titanium diving replica watch measuring 42 mm in diameter. The new Tudor Pelagos Blue ref. 25600TB features a beautiful blue dial and bezel to resemble the Tudor Snowflakes worn by the French Navy. Besides the obvious color variation, there are three additional elements that differentiate this new Tudor Pelagos from its black predecessor ref. 25500TN. The new Tudor Pelagos Blue ref. 25600TB is also powered by a newly designed in-house movement just like the new Tudor North Flag but without its power reserve indicator.

The variation on this new in-house movement labels the calibre as MT-5612, however, the only difference is the lack of power reserve indicator. Just as in the new Tudor North Flag we presented you here, the movement is a Chronometer Officially Certified, it comes with a power reserve of 70 hours, instantaneous date with rapid setting and stop-seconds for precise time setting. The new movement beats at a frequency of 28,800 vph and includes 28 jewels. Therefore, the dial on the new Tudor Pelagos Blue features now a different layout that includes writing at 6 o’clock that eludes to the COC certification. Additionally, the dial also lacks of the hash mark that was located at 3 o’clock next to the date aperture on the Tudor Pelagos ref. 25500TN.

And of course as expected from a company like Tudor, the predecessor Pelagos Black ref. 25500TN had to be updated to maintain things in place. The new Pelagos Black bearing the same reference number as the blue one —25600TN— but with a different letter at the end, is also not fitted with the new in-house calibre and with the same dial configuration.

While many praised Tudor for adding the COC writing to the dial, we feel that five lines of text make the bottom of the dial somewhat busy —with the depth rating to close to the 6 o’clock marker— and the COC could’ve been kept in just one line. Perhaps keeping the COC looking to similar to that of Rolex replica watches wasn’t an option. Regardless, these two new timepieces look as good as it gets. One thing that was kept intact was the depth rating for the replica watch at 500 meters —1640 feet.

The new Tudor Pelagos Blue ref. 25600TB is available on blue rubber strap or on matching titanium bracelet. This new replica watch looks as good on bracelet as it does on the strap, however, due to the fact that the replica watch is made of titanium, the bracelet is so light that it tends to feel a little flimsy. Nonetheless, the Pelagos has been a stunner since day one and now also available in blue even more. If you liked the hue of blue that came in the first generation of the two-tone Rolex Submariners with ceramic bezel, then you are going to go crazy about this replica watch. All we can say is that we absolutely love it with its robust 42 mm case size, its stunning matte dial and its bezel equipped with luminescent material.

On the wrist, the replica watch wears true to its size and exactly the way ‘tool replica watches’ are supposed to wear. While we have always been big fans of the Tudor Pelagos in black, this new addition is already one that we have in our short list of replica watches we will likely buy after Baselworld 2015 is over. Available for purchase at the authorized dealers network in July.
