Without a doubt, Baselworld brings the best creativity in event planning from all the brands involved in the world’s largest replica watch and jewelry show. Every year we come to Baselworld, beyond the amazing replica watch novelties we get to review, we are also blown away by the brands’ displays, their pavilions, the unforgettable parties and the food and aperitifs we enjoy in their lounges. However, in the last five years, we haven’t seen such a clever idea, like the one Zenith had this year. Partnering with Uber and recruiting a fleet of some of the nicest vintage classic cars we’ve seen in a while, Zenith offered complimentary rides around Basel for their guests and the press.
Honestly, what else can you ask for when your dead tired running around appointments and Zenith offers you a free Uber ride to the Trois Rois Hotel in a super elegant classic car. Therefore, riding around Basel in the Zenith Uber classic cars was one of the best things Baselworld 2016 had to offer this year. Oh and let’s not forget that Zenith also had the bright idea to set up a full barber shop and shoe shine area right at the entrance of their pavilion. Well, back to the cars, the Zenith Uber Classic Car fleet included vintage concourse level beauties like a Bentley S1 from 1958, a gorgeous pale yellow Jaguar E-Type and a navy blue Citroen Traction Avant 11 CV amongst a few others.
While we are suckers for classic vintage cars here at WCL, the cars got even better when we got to play with the Zenith novelties and paired them with these awesome rides. The novelties from Zenith like the new El Primero 36,000 vph Classic Cars we presented you here or the new Heritage Pilot Café Racer we reviewed here, were definitely a perfect fit for these classic cars.
To enjoy a free ride, all one had to do was to go into the Uber app and select the UberZenith tab to schedule a pick-up in a Zenith Classic Car ride. The best part of course, was that all rides provided by Zenith were completely free. Kudos to Zenith for making our lives and transportation super easy while at Baselworld.
